Instructional Aides

Minimum Qualifications

  High school diploma
  2 years completed college coursework in psychology and/or training in implementing one-to-one discrete trial instruction to children with autism preferred
  Valid California identification card, current automobile insurance ($100,000/$300,000 liability limits), current TB clearance within one year, immunization record (MMR, Hep B, Pertussis, Varicella), and fingerprint clearance through the California DOJ and FBI

Training

  On the job field training or other training provided by BECA and/or professionals outside the agency. Registered Behavior Technician training provided and compensated for

Duties and Responsibilities

  Conduct scheduled 1:1 behavioral intervention for children with autism
  Assist in introduction of items/targets as appropriate and according to the written protocol
  Record and maintain accurate records of child's progress and difficulties for each session conducted
  Relay observations and suggestions to Clinical Supervisor or Behavior Analyst
  Participate and contribute to regular team meetings
  Review and sign weekly team meeting notes
  Assist in training less experienced staff on child's team in behavioral intervention techniques and professionalism as required
  Assist in maintaining child's service notebook in a clear, up to date, and organized manner
  Assist in maintaining intervention materials at the home and office in an organized manner
  Assist with intervention material generation as requested
  Staff must be able to reasonably prevent elopement or give chase as necessary to ensure child safety
  Staff must be able to physically lift and carry up to 50 pounds (e.g., grocery items, houseware items, move furniture), as well as be able to physically assist, guide, and facilitate movement for consumers that may need physical assistance

Minimum Qualifications

  High school diploma, BA/BS degree and training in implementing one-to-one discrete trail instruction to children with autism
  Valid California drivers license; current automobile insurance
  TB Clearance
  Fingerprint clearance through the California DOJ and FBI
  Completion of at least three months of experience providing direct behavioral intervention, and completion of BECA’s Senior level training
  Requires repetitive movements of the wrists, hand and/or fingers, the ability to receive and express detailed information through oral communication, visual acuity, and the ability to read and understand written directions
  Requires a full range of body motion including the ability to stand, stoop, kneel, reach, push and pull when responding to student challenging behaviors, eye/hand coordination, and the ability to lift students weighing 50 pounds, using proper body mechanics. Requires repetitive movements of the wrists, hand and/or fingers, the ability to receive and express detailed information through oral communication, visual acuity, and the ability to read and understand written directions

Minimum Qualifications

  MS or MA in Psychology, Social Work or Education with course work in Applied Behavior Analysis.
  Valid California driver’s license
  Current automobile insurance
  TB Clearance
  Criminal background clearance through the California DOJ and FBI
  Two years + prior work experience with children with autism (AUT), an autism spectrum disorder (ASD), or pervasive developmental disorder (PDD) utilizing the techniques of applied behavior analysis, specifically discrete trial training
  Requires a full range of body motion including the ability to stand, stoop, kneel, reach, push and pull when responding to student challenging behaviors, eye/hand coordination, and the ability to lift students weighing 50 pounds, using proper body mechanics
  Requires repetitive movements of the wrists, hand and/or fingers, the ability to receive and express detailed information through oral communication, visual acuity, and the ability to read and understand written directions.

 

 

Behavior Analysts

Minimum Qualifications

  Must hold a BCBA certificate
  Valid California driver’s license
  Current automobile insurance
  TB Clearance
  Criminal background clearance through the California DOJ and FBI
  Two years + prior work experience with children with autism (AUT), an autism spectrum disorder (ASD), or pervasive developmental disorder (PDD) utilizing the techniques of applied behavior analysis, specifically discrete trial training
  Preference for candidates who hold BACB certification with prior experience in the design and development of behavioral education programs for children with autism
  Requires a full range of body motion including the ability to stand, stoop, kneel, reach, push and pull when responding to student challenging behaviors, eye/hand coordination, and the ability to lift students weighing 50 pounds, using proper body mechanics
  Requires repetitive movements of the wrists, hand and/or fingers, the ability to receive and express detailed information through oral communication, visual acuity, and the ability to read and understand written directions.
